About a hundred servicemen of the Dnipro separate territorial defense battalion received awards
Soldiers, sergeants and officers of the Dnipro battalion received awards on the occasion of the Day of Unity of Ukraine. The heroism, courage, high professionalism, impeccable performance of tasks and discipline of the servicemen were recognized by the Minister of Defense, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Commander of the Theater of Operations, the Head of the Eastern Regional Directorate, and the commander of the Dnipro Separate Battalion.
According to an established tradition, the unit commander personally honored each soldier by visiting the units' locations. Some of the soldiers came to the ceremony directly from the front line, while others went to the front line immediately after the award ceremony. A particularly solemn moment of the ritual was the awarding of fallen comrades. The feat of each of them is honored, and their memory lives on among their brothers and sisters. The heroes' insignia will later be passed on to their families.
105 years ago, the centuries-old aspiration for the unity of Ukrainian lands within their own state was initialled on St. Sophia's Square, uniting the western Ukrainian lands of the west and the lands of Naddniprianshchyna into a state. In 1990, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians created a living chain of Unity, symbolically uniting the country from East to West. Today, the chain of Unity stretches across the front line. We already have our own state, but the enemy's aggression unites Ukrainians once again in the struggle for survival, for their dignity, for freedom and independence.
